The Chair of Landscape Architecture together with The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) and Hamburg Consultancy Service would like to cordially invite you to a workshop on sustainable solid waste management. It will be held on Friday, May 26th from 9am–1:30pm at the EiABC campus in the Swedish Pavilion. There will be a suit of presentations, including: the compost work we have been doing on campus, experiences from other similiar projects as well as how waste relates to architecture with a presentation from Ahadu Abaineh.
The 7th Annual Environment Week 2017 Campaign at EiABC kicks off with the theme “Reuse and Recycle”. This year’s theme generated from the simple idea of enhancing ones own surrounding using resources available within reach. For this purpose three high traffic public areas within the EiABC campus were selected for intervention and different student groups developed plans to rehabilitate these open spaces. The work includes both the recycling of already existing structures within the campus and reusing them onto new sites; as well as building new landscape elements and fixtures from scratch. The Environment Week Campaign is undertaken anually to create a platform for students to volunteer and participate in an initiative that instills the positive mindset of community service. In the future, the EiABC Evironment Week Initiative plans to undertake these interventions outside the campus grounds in collaboration with the Lideta Subcity Administration and the Community.
